James B. Winston, MD

Dr. James Winston is the psychiatric consultant for Clinical Psychology Associates. After earning a medical degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1981, Dr. Winston went on to complete his residency in psychiatry at the University of North Carolina Memorial Hospital. He has maintained an active psychiatric practice in Milwaukee since 1985. He has been the medical director at three Milwaukee psychiatric hospitals and has been a leader in his field since 1985. Dr. Winston has been active in teaching medical students, and he continually lectures his peers and other physicians on the use of psychotropics in clinical practice. He has been on television multiple times and most recently discussed public fears regarding Anthrax and other chemical agents. Dr. Winston specializes in psychopharmacology (especially in the area of anxiety disorders and mood disorders). He works with children, adolescents, and adults. Dr. Winston is a Board Certified Psychiatrist who is on staff at all major Milwaukee hospitals. Dr. Winston is warm, empathic, and helps his patients feel comfortable with compassion and understanding.
