Emily Peissig, Psy.D., obtained a master’s degree in clinical psychology from the Wisconsin School of Professional Psychology (WSPP) in 2017. She was then forensically trained in both treatment and assessment at her pre-doctoral internship at the state-operated Forensic Services in St. Peter, MN. Dr. Peissig’s doctorate degree in clinical psychology from WSPP was conferred in August of 2020 and she continued on, completing a formal forensic fellowship at the Sand Ridge Secure Treatment Center (SRSTC) and Mendota Mental Health Institute (MMHI). Dr. Peissig became a licensed psychologist in Wisconsin in September 2021 (WI #3985-57) and a licensed psychologist in California in April 2024 (PSY35008). She also holds an Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT) and a Temporary Authorization to Practice (TAP) through PSYPACT (#16494) which allows her to provide both in person and telehealth services to states who have enacted PSYPACT legislation. Dr. Peissig currently holds employment at Recovery Solutions in California, as well as the Department of Health Services (DHS) and the Department of Corrections (DOC) in Wisconsin. In these capacities she provides forensic assessments including those for competency to stand trial, violence risk, and psychosexual evaluations. She also conducts both neuropsychological and psychological diagnostic assessments for treatment purposes. Finally, within the DOC, Dr. Peissig specializes in individual and group treatment for women who are serving long-term sentences within the Wisconsin prison system. Dr. Peissig’s interest areas include sentence mitigation, psychosexual assessments, general forensic evaluations, and trial consultation.
