Mindy Hernandez, PhD

Dr. Mindy Hernandez is a licensed psychologist in the state of Wisconsin. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a Pre-Law minor from Marian University in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, and completed her Master of Arts and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Saybrook University in Pasadena, California. Her academic training includes advanced coursework in forensic neuropsychology from Fielding Graduate University and certifications in paralegal studies.


Dr. Hernandez’s clinical approach integrates humanistic and strength-based frameworks, including person-centered therapy, emotion-focused therapy, narrative therapy, and existential therapy. She emphasizes a culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and ethically grounded approach to care. Her training includes crisis intervention and the use of standardized tools such as the ADOS-2 for autism assessment and the HCR-20 for violence risk evaluation.

Dr. Hernandez currently serves as a psychologist in an inpatient hospital setting, where she determines clinical appropriateness for program admission, collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, supports and develops the implementation of evidence-based treatment protocols, and provides clinical education and supervision to staff. She also maintains an outpatient practice at Clinical Psychology Associates, delivering psychological services across the lifespan. Her areas of expertise include comprehensive evaluations for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorder, neurocognitive functioning, psychosocial risk, and trauma. She has experience conducting independent medical evaluations (IMEs) related to guardianship, disability, and involuntary civil commitment. Her forensic work further includes evaluations for risk, competency, termination of parental rights, and court-ordered assessments. Dr. Hernandez has also testified in court as an expert witness regarding completed psychological evaluations.

Dr. Hernandez has presented nationally on topics in forensic psychology and completed a dissertation exploring the emotional and psychological impact of viewing online video content. She is an active member of the American Psychological Association, the American Psychology-Law Society, the Wisconsin Psychological Association, and the National Register of Health Service Psychologists.
